The Lost Sea Garden

 

PW Children's Bookshelf announcement - Mike Yuen-Killick at Red Comet Press has bought, in an exclusive submission, world rights to The Lost Sea Garden, a middle-grade novel debut by Alison Goldberg (I.) © Mabel Lewis (Eighteen Flowers for Grandma). The story tells of Cockleshell, a young humpback whale, and her search for a mythical sea garden, where long-lost creatures and clearer waters could be the key to survival for her family, friends, and the Ocean; Julie Romeis Sanders will edit, and the book will feature illustrations and cover by Vanessa Gillings in her children's book debut. Publication is planned for fall 2026; the author and illustrator represented themselves.
